I know that usually my articles are about marketing strategies and ideas, but today I want to talk about you— the business owner, the one in the mix, the one putting in the hours and busting their butt day in and day out.
As entrepreneurs, we live an amazing life. A life of power, fame, and money. A life where we get to call the shots, travel to all the fancy places, drive cool cars, and live in huge homes. A life like Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and Bill Gates.
Unfortunately, for many entrepreneurs that’s far from the truth.
Instead, most entrepreneurs struggle to get by, make less than their employees, work incredibly long hours, and an have immense weight on their shoulders with so many depending on them.
Instead of travelling the world taking in the good life, we struggle to step away from business even for a weekend, and when we finally are trying to enjoy some beach time a voice deep inside makes us feel like we shouldn’t be taking a break and should be at the office instead.
Entrepreneurship is hard.
Running a business is hard.
Being the boss is hard.
Heck, life can be hard.
But sometimes, you just need to hug the crazy. You’ve got to stop fighting and just embrace it all.
Today, I don’t want to talk about how to grow your business. I just want to tell you that it’s OKAY to need a break. It’s okay to lean on a shoulder. It’s okay to admit it’s hard. It’s okay to feel doubt. It’s okay to feel out of control sometimes. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to feel like you don’t know what the heck you’re doing. It’s okay to feel lost. It’s okay to look at the bank account and feel rotten. It’s okay to feel down and out. It’s okay to reach out for a hand.
Lately, I’ve been swamped myself. I just took on a few more accounts that have me busy, and sometimes I feel overwhelmed too.
And when I start to feel like I’m drowning in work, I sit back, close my eyes, and just remind myself to hug the crazy.
Today’s Monday, and for many that can be a hectic day. I challenge you to just embrace it and hug it out.
The moment you embrace all of business life’s challenges, it loses its emotional toll on you. Take your power and own it. You’ve got this.
To your success,
P.S.: I do want to give you one quick tip while I’ve got you here: if you’re running Facebook ads and are NOT re-targeting your ads, you are burning cash like crazy. You’ve got to re-target your audience, otherwise you’re trying to go cold over and over again and it’s a huge waste of money. Set up your pixel properly (say on your website) and re-target those who took the time to visit the site (the pixel tracks all that for you). Those are warm leads, and far more likely to buy. If you want to learn more, reach out to me and I’ll help you out.
