I’m just getting in from a weekend away and I’ve got emails coming out the wazoo so I’ll keep this short, sweet and to the point.
Do you know WHY Trump won, and what the business lesson in it is?
I mean, don’t get me wrong there are many reasons he won, whether right or wrong, but the point I took from all of this was one simple word: he was remarkable.
Not remarkable in the sense of “oh look how fantastic he is”, but in the literal sense… he was worth remarking over.
[ri-mahr-kuh-buh l] | adjective
1. notably or conspicuously unusual; extraordinary:a remarkable change.
2. worthy of notice or attention.
In a world filled with useless noise where everyone is shouting the same thing, he had the entire world talking about him in a way no other politician ever had.
At the end of the day, he was worth remarking over, and over, and over, and over again…
How is your restaurant, in a world full of restaurants, worth remarking about?
How is your clothing store, in a world full of clothing stores, worth remarking about?
How is your agency, in a world full of agencies, worth remarking about?
How is your hotel, in a world full of hotels, worth remarking about?
How is your firm, in a world full of firms, worth remarking about?
How is your practice, in a world full of practices, worth remarking about?
You get the point…
In a world full of ice cream, no one talks about vanilla. Don’t be vanilla.
I challenge you to go through your business and find ways to be triple chocolate and stand out from the crowd.
Maybe it’s the unique way you market. Maybe it’s a unique item in your showroom. Maybe it’s the way you answer the phone. Maybe it’s the way you dress.
Every business, no matter how “boring” you may feel the industry is, has ways to stand out from the crowd and be remarkable.
Today, don’t be vanilla, be worth remarking over.
To your success,
