That beautiful little bundle of awesomeness is my daughter Sariah, and let me tell you, she’s something special.
She’s got this attitude of absolute joy, of happiness, or imagination and excitement day in and day out. (Okay, it tends to fade at bed time and turn into crying, fighting and refusing to sleep, but hey, she just wants to stay up and be happy!)
To Sariah, everything is super. And I mean literally SUPER.
When I ask her to go get something for me, she doesn’t walk, she runs. But not just any run, she pulls her arms up by her side in an exaggerated running fashion and exclaims “SUPER RUN” and does this cute little super run to where ever she’s going.
But it doesn’t end there.
While she’s eating she’ll exclaim “SUPER EAT!”.
When she’s dancing, she shouts “SUPER DANCE”
When she’s jumping into a puddle of water, she shouts “SUPER JUMP!”
When we’re play fighting, she says “SUPER PUNCH” right before smacking me.
When she’s swimming, it’s “SUPER SWIM”.
To her, everything can be made SUPER.
The other day she made me laugh out loud when she took it to a whole other level…
She had made a bad decision so I reprimanded her. She looked up at me with her big brown eyes, tears forming and said “Am I super grounded?”
She’s something special, and I love that girl, but let me tell you something: She’s teaching me something that, as adults, we lose sight of very quickly.
Life isn’t all that bad, and even when it is, we can make the most of it.
How many of us go through life struggling to stay conscious?
How many of us wake up and just wish we can go back to bed??
How many of us can’t wait for the day to be over?
How different would life be if every moment was super? Even if you’re on your way to a time out.
I challenge you to see every day, every moment as SUPER.
In fact, I challenge you to exclaim, OUT LOUD, “SUPER ________” before you do anything.
Paying a bill? “SUPER PAID!”
Stuck in traffic? “SUPER STUCK!”
Making a call? “SUPER CALL!”
Making dinner? “SUPER SUPPER!”
Make every moment SUPER!
Now, am I saying that simply shouting SUPER before you do anything is going to turn your life around? Not at all – but it’s a darn good start. At the very least, it’ll make the day of anyone around you 😉
I’m a firm believer that everything starts in the mind, and if you kept your mind SUPER you’d have a better output.
Are you ready to be SUPER?
“But what if SUPER isn’t enough?”
It’s not. In fact, being positive and SUPER is only step 1, which is getting your mind right.
Step 2 is doing something about it.
You can’t just hope to be SUPER, you need to decide to be SUPER and follow that decision up with ACTION.
Regardless, SUPER is a good start – and I encourage you all to feel, act and BE super.
To your success,
