Have you ever faced some form of challenge, obstacle or road block in your life? We’ve all faced challenges before.
A 4 year old trying to put a triangle shape in the triangle hole…
A 12 year old kid running out of wood while building a tree house…
An 18 year old who wants to go to a concert but doesn’t have the money…
A 25 year old who just lost their job or is struggling to land their dream job…
A 35 year old who’s company loses their biggest client…
Or loses their home to a fire…
Or suffers a loss in the family…
Or a key staff member leaves…
Or has run out of cash…
Or doesn’t have the skills needed to do something…
This list is, quite literally, endless.
We’ve all faced challenges in our lives, and I can guarantee you that you WILL face more. Many more. And at the end of the day, there are really only two options when faced with an obstacle: you can give up, or you can find a way.
In life, from birth until death, you’re going to be faced with problems, obstacles, challenges, set backs and difficulties. The only people without problems are buried 6 feet deep.
Challenges are a part of life, it’s what makes life exciting, suspenseful, and worth living. Out of challenges comes out greatest self-discoveries and personal growth.
Challenges can make or break you. But what if I told you that there was a key, a golden ticket, to crushing any challenge, every time?
You’d want it, wouldn’t you?
What if I told you that all of life’s greatest difficulties, set backs and road blocks could be solved with this key.
What if I told you that every problem in your business can be solved with this key.
What if I told you that every financial challenge could be solved with this key.
What if I told you that the world could be yours to take with this key.
Now what if I told you this key was already inside you. It’s inside all of us, but most refuse to use it.
It’s often so much easier to quit, to give up, to say it’s not your fault, to blame the government, the weather, the banks, the clients, the staff, your parents, your spouse, the birds, the water, the oxygen, etc.
It’s easy to point a finger. But it’s hard to take responsibility. It’s hard to figure it out. It’s hard to find a way.
But that’s the golden key.
Your ability to be resourceful is the golden key to your success.
In my 16 years in business, I’ve come to realize that there isn’t anybody coming to the rescue. If it’s to be, it’s up to me.
“I’m too young”, “I don’t have the right funding”, “The markets changing”, “The economy sucks”… I hear it every day.
Yet not a day goes by that I don’t see someone who has everything stacked AGAINST them, yet they find a way.
If you’re resourceful, there’s always a way.
If you’re resourceful, you are unstoppable.
BUT… I should warn you… I see a lot of people make this major mistake and they get stopped dead in their tracks and never overcome the obstacle they set out to crush…
Are you ready for this…maybe sit down…
Saying “I’m resourceful” isn’t enough.
I know… ground breaking! But it’s the truth. Saying you’re resourceful isn’t enough.
Too many people say they’re resourceful, yet as soon as I offer a possible solution, the first words out of their mouth is “oh but we can’t do that” or “Yes, BUT”.
We’ve all heard the old cliché… “People who say “but” a lot tend to have a big one”.
“I would start my business, but…”
“I should go on that trip, but…”
“I should lose some weight, but…”
“I should spend more time with my kids, but…”
“I should save money, but…”
“I should spend more time with my spouse, but…”
BUT is a recipe for failure.
Next time you’re faced with a problem, go at it with the attitude of “I WILL FIND A WAY! Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but I will find a way”.
“Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow…”
(For the TWD fans 😉
And it all starts with a burning desire, a belief deep inside that there IS A WAY. Because, we both know if you verbally chant “I’m resourceful, I’ll find a way, rah rah rah!” yet deep inside are thinking “I’m f#ucked!”, you won’t be very useful.
So believe, right down to your soul, that there is a way. And when you become resourceful, you start asking better questions and suddenly you start receiving better answers, and one day while showering or napping, the answer will pop into your mind and you’ll have “found the way”.
Being resourceful is the key to becoming unstoppable.
No matter what you’re going through in your life, from business to personal, there’s always a way.
Ask better questions, get better answers, and find a way.
To your success,
P.S.: Being resourceful doesn’t mean you go it alone! Often, being resourceful means you go beyond your reach, you ask for help, you seek outside council, you read, you learn, you explore, and you figure it out.
